A Weekend in Rome

As I am sitting in a coffee shop writing about my time in Rome, I had the most amazing encounter with an Italian woman. sitting behind me, this woman who only spoke Italian came up to me and mentioned how amazing my work for this website is. without even speaking the same language, we continued to have a wonderful conversation and it is one that I will remember forever.

the beauty the Rome holds is unlike any other. the history is unimaginable and the culture is vibrant and rich. there are so many beautiful aspects to this culture and I cannot wait to share some of my favorites.

st. Peters basilica felt as if I had arrived in heaven. upon entering the ornate church I began to cry. this wave of emotion came over me not just because of the beauty but because of something much deeper. i felt so lucky to be able to see something so detailed and I knew that no one in my family had ever been able to see the Vatican. how did I become to lucky to see this with my own eyes? my parents who have worked for everything and who have given me the best life have never been able to see this. that was why I was so emotional and every time I explore somewhere new this feeling takes over. I have finally realized how lucky I am. I am so lucky to be living this life and I cannot thank my parents enough for this opportunity. and here I am again, crying in the coffee shop where I am writing, not because of sadness but because of extreme joy.
